Research direction

Start by reproducing the touchpad tap behavior on the LightDM login screen and compare it with the disabled setting in Xfce. Trace how LightDM handles touchpad input and determine whether the requested behavior can be configured; done means tapping the touchpad no longer acts as a click while entering a password.
