Description
It would be useful to have panel options for different layouts beside snapping windows. For example one half, one third, one forth, based on active window. Something like Rectangle for MacOS https://github.com/rxhanson/Rectangle.
Example of Rectangle's panel options can be seen in this image:

This would make arrangement of windows much easier to handle for the user, instead of dragging and snapping.
p.s. appologies for the large image.

Research direction
No file, test, or entry point is named in the issue. Start by reviewing the existing panel and window-snapping UI, then compare the requested layouts with Rectangle's example. Done means defining and implementing the panel icon and layout options for half, third, and fourth positioning relative to the active window.
