Description

What would you like to see added?

I'd like us to have a "changelog" page for reasonably major improvements made to the cluster. We can start with the recent installations of...

  • Installed module Anaconda3/2023.07-2 with libmamba as default solver, deprecating previous Anaconda3/* modules, and Mamba/* modules
  • Installed module git/2.41.0, deprecating previous git/* modules
  • Installed A100 GPUs, see here for more information. LINK TO #604
  • Installed new CUDA/* modules, deprecating older CUDA/* modules and all modules like cudaX.Y/*. Please see the list below for a complete summary.
    • Installed CUDA/11.6.0, CUDA/11.8.0, CUDA/12.1.1, CUDA/12.2.0.
    • Deprecated CUDA/11.3.1-GCC-10.3.0, CUDA/11.4.1.
    • Deprecated cuda80/*/*, cuda90/*/*, cuda10.0/*/*, cuda10.1/*/*, cuda10.2/*/*, cuda11.2/*/*, cuda11.3/*/*, cuda11.4/*/*, cuda11.8/*/*
  • Installed new cuDNN/*-CUDA-* modules, deprecating older cuDNN/* modules. New modules are built against new CUDA/* modules and are intended to function together. Please see the list below for a complete summary.
    • Installed cuDNN/8.9.2.26-CUDA-11.6.0, cuDNN/8.9.2.26-CUDA-11.8.0, cuDNN/8.9.2.26-CUDA-12.1.1, cuDNN/8.9.2.26-CUDA-12.2.0.
    • Deprecated cuDNN/5.1-CUDA-8.0.61, cuDNN/6.0-CUDA-8.0.61, cuDNN/7.0.5-CUDA-9.0.176, cuDNN/7.4.2.24-CUDA-10.0.130, cuDNN/7.6.2.24-CUDA-10.1.243, cuDNN/8.1.1.33-CUDA-11.2.2, cuDNN/8.2.1.32-CUDA-11.3.1.

Research direction

No file, test, or entry point is named in the issue. Start by locating the site's existing documentation page structure and navigation, then use the listed module, GPU, CUDA, and cuDNN changes as the initial changelog content; done means a discoverable page records these updates and links to issue #604 where relevant.
