Description

At the moment, I have to use -c dbg if I want to build with profiling but then I am compiling without optimizations. I would like to build with profiling and optimizations at the same time. The most sensible option to me would be to completely decouple the compilation mode and profiling.

Research direction

Start by locating the rules_haskell entry points that interpret the -c dbg compilation mode and profiling settings, then inspect the related tests or build configurations. Done means profiling can be enabled together with optimizations while compilation mode and profiling remain independently selectable.
