Description

Hello,

I’m currently working with Trixi.jl and have two questions:

Solution interpolation
Is there a built-in function in Trixi.jl to evaluate the solution at an arbitrary point in the domain, even if it’s not a mesh node? This would be very helpful for plotting streamlines with Makie, since I need solution values at arbitrary locations.

Direct steady-state solution
Is there a way to compute the steady-state solution directly, without advancing through time-stepping intervals?

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points to begin with. Clarify whether interpolation, direct steady-state solving, or both are in scope, then identify the relevant Trixi.jl APIs and define expected behavior for each request.
