Description

I wanted to make a heading a link:

# [link](https://github.com)

link

but the id returned includes the URL text. In this case it should be just "link". Would it be expensive to parse text in the function before the call to _slugify?

Research direction

Start at the header_id_from_text function used by the header-ids extra, then inspect how its input reaches _slugify. Reproduce the issue with the linked heading example and verify that the generated id contains only link, not the URL text.
