Description

Report

See discussion in 4865 for reference.

Context:
We're currently inserting YouTube videos into the docs and blog.
Pros

  • Sends people to YouTube channel

Cons

  • The thumbnails are optimized for YouTube and are off-brand on the websites
  • They don't autoplay

There are other options that we should explore:

  • just put video into autoplay (this would make for heavier storage needs)
  • Use a service like Wistia that will enable more granular understanding of how people view the videos, what they re-watch, most watched parts, etc. I believe it also would allow the video to autoplay without sound and then the user can choose to toggle on the sound. More research needs to be done here to see if it can be accomplished on our website.
