Description

Hi,

It is a common pattern in JS to use the character $ to mean something special, or as a prefix/suffix.

The problem when doing this in TS at the type level is that it can be surrounded by angle brackets, then haskell ligatures kick in and it looks a little weird.

Research direction

No file or test is named in the issue. Start by reproducing the TypeScript pattern where $ is surrounded by angle brackets and compare the rendered result with the requested behavior. Done means the unwanted ligature can be disabled for this pattern without changing the intended rendering of other sequences.
