App
Thunderbird for Android
App version
12.1
Where did you get the app from?
F-Droid
Android version
10
Device model
Titan
Steps to reproduce
Thuderbird has folder limit that user can set. The menu gives the option of limit local folder size to 10/25/50/100/250/etc messages.
Unfortunately Thunderbird doesn't delete old messages from folder, so with pop3 account the local folder grows to a huge number of emails, but after a big number Thunderbird becomes too slow to manage them.
It seems Thunderbird ignores that option.
Expected behavior
Respect the folder message limit deleting older messages
Actual behavior
All messages remain without control.

Research direction
Begin by reproducing the POP3 case in Thunderbird for Android 12.1 with the folder limit set, using the stated Android 10 and Titan environment if available. Confirm completion when older messages are removed and the folder remains within the selected message limit.
