Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue through Settings → configured email account → Fetching mail → Folder poll frequency with Thunderbird for Android 11.1 on Android 13. Compare scheduled fetching with manual refresh and determine whether the two-hour interval triggers a fetch and notification; done means mail is retrieved automatically every two hours.
