Deleting an email in GMail issue

Steps to reproduce

Happens every time I delete an email
The pixel is a fresh install

When I delete any email on the gmail IMAP email and then log into to gmail website the email will still be in the inbox. It does remove it from the android app folder and it won't show up again. I also use Yahoo and Mail.com. Both are IMAP and moves the email to the Trash folder when I delete the email.

For the IMAP prefix I do have [Gmail]/ as I have done for years.

Sync server deletions is checked
Mark as read when deleted is checked
When I delete a message I have Delete from server
Erase deleted messages on server I have Immediately

Expected behavior

Move the email to the trash folder

Actual behavior

Removes it from the app inbox only but leaves in on the server inbox.

Start by reproducing the deletion flow with a Gmail IMAP account using the reported Thunderbird for Android settings, then trace the Android mail-deletion path. Done means deleting a message removes it from the Gmail inbox and places it in Gmail's Trash, while preserving the reported Yahoo and Mail.com behavior.
