Description
🎯The objective
The aim of this project is to support an intuitive and modern user experience by reviewing the Thunderbird for Android settings and making it more simple to use, while providing more advanced users with an opportunity to customize.
While there are some settings we might just move around, there could be others where we decide to remove the customization. When we do so, we’ll consider:
- (if available) data on how much the features are used
- Code quality and maintenance burden of the feature being used
- Product fit

Research direction
Start by reviewing the current settings screens and the issues linked by the team or marked as duplicates. Identify which settings should move, be presented differently, or lose customization, using feature usage, maintenance burden, and product fit as criteria. Done requires an agreed scope, updated settings behavior, migration testing where applicable, and any needed SUMO screenshot updates.
