Google Play
Android version
12 SKQ1.210908.001
Device model
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro
Steps to reproduce
Hold an NFC token with a mailto:... link to the phone
See that the phone offers other mail programs, but not K-9
Expected behavior
Work ...
Actual behavior
Does not work.
I recently had opened issue
Add support for mailto: URI on NFC tag #7755
https://github.com/thunderbird/thunderbird-android/issues/7755
which was considered as a feature request and closed as implemented in pull #7804.
I just upgraded to version 8.0 of K-9, but it still does not work. The phone still offers Gmail, but not K-9.
Logs
Since K-9 is not launched, there is no logs.

Research direction
Start by reviewing issue #7755 and pull request #7804, then reproduce the mailto: NFC behavior on Android 12 with K-9 Mail 8.0. Done means K-9 Mail is offered when an NFC token containing a mailto: link is scanned, alongside the other available mail apps.
