Problem you are trying to solve
The feature to enable IMAP push was buried and I think it should be default, or if not the "wizard" when adding a new account should ask if this should be enabled
Suggested solution
enable a check box in the initial wizard to enable IMPA push. Should be in the screen where the interval is set.

Research direction
Start at the initial account-setup wizard and the screen where the mail interval is configured; inspect how the existing IMAP push setting is exposed and stored. Clarify whether the wizard should offer an opt-in checkbox or enable push by default, then verify that the selected behavior is applied to the new account.
