  • I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.
App version

6.804

Where did you get the app from?

F-Droid

Android version

9

Device model

No response

Steps to reproduce
  1. Open a message, where not all content (images etc.) is shown.
  2. Press "Download complete message".
Expected behavior

The timestamp shouldn't change.

Actual behavior

The timestamp, when the message is arrived, is overwritten. So the sorting is no longer useful.

Research direction

Reproduce the issue on Android 9 with app version 6.804 by opening a partially downloaded message and selecting “Download complete message.” Trace the message-download and timestamp handling from that action; done means the original arrival timestamp remains unchanged and message sorting still reflects arrival time.
