Description

  • I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.
App version

6.715

Where did you get the app from?

F-Droid

Android version

14 (rooted, not custom)

Device model

Google Pixel 8 Pro

Steps to reproduce
  1. Go to "Settings" -> "Add Account"
  2. Enter in the email address for the M365 shared account. Click "Next"
  3. Click "Edit Configuration"
  4. Change the username to the appropriate string "realuser@domain.com\sharedmailbox@domain.com". Click "Next"
Expected behavior

The app should now be asking me for the credentials for "realuser@domain.com" in the OAuth dialog

Actual behavior

The app asks for the credentials for "sharedmailbox@domain.com", which don't allow login. Any sort of attempting different ways of authenticating either lead to authentication errors, or adding the non-shared account.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the Settings > Add Account flow on Android 14 with a Microsoft 365 shared account, then inspect the OAuth dialog and the username configuration step. The fix is done when authentication requests credentials for realuser@domain.com while still adding the shared mailbox account.
