App version

6.603

Where did you get the app from?

F-Droid

Android version

14

Device model

Pixel 6a

Steps to reproduce

Enable VPN with the option "Continuously active VPN" under Android Settings.

Expected behavior

If the "Continuously active VPN" function is activated, Thunderbird should recognise when the flight mode is switched on or no network connection is available.

Actual behavior

If the option "Continuously active VPN" is activated for a VPN, Thunderbird (Android) tries to establish the push connection even if the device is in flight mode. However, if the system option is deactivated, the detection that no network is available works and Thunderbird displays "Wait until a network is available".

If the "Always active VPN" option is activated and the device is in flight mode, the following is displayed: "Waiting for new emails".

With NetGuard and RethinkDNS you can view the outgoing connection attempts of Thunderbird.
