App version

Where did you get the app from?

Google Play

Android version

Device model

Pixel 4

Steps to reproduce

I went exported my settings on the old device (Pixel 4) and imported them on my new one (Fairphone 5).

Expected behavior

After entering the passwords, I expected K9 to work on my new device just like on my old one.

Actual behavior

One of my mail accounts was not syncing without an error. It's my custom domain with a server certificate that I had to accept on the old one. That hasn't been taken over, but I wasn't told so. Either this should be done automatically or at least I should've been asked to confirm the certificate again. I had to go to the account's server settings and just click on continue there and then was asked to confirm the certificate.

Research direction

Start by reproducing a settings export and import between devices for an account using a manually accepted server certificate, then trace the settings export/import handling and certificate confirmation flow. Done means the accepted certificate is transferred safely or the user is prompted to confirm it again, with a regression test covering the migration.
