Description
Checklist
- I have used the search function to see if someone else has already submitted the same bug report.
- I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.
App version
6.602
Where did you get the app from?
Google Play
Android version
12
Device model
OnePlus Nord
Steps to reproduce
Go to an email with a very long email chain (causes reply to be shrunk at some point to single character lines)
Click reply or reply all
Go to attach a file e.g. image using the file picker
When returned to the app after selecting files the reply window disappears and loads back into the email.
Expected behavior
Reply should resume after attaching files.
NB: Just writing a text reply doesn't do this behaviour
Actual behavior
Application loads back into the email view rather than reply view.
Logs
Looks like the crash generated a lot of stuff!
Looking at the time stamps, it begins from 13:17 I think where I began to test the action
By the way, the email it crashed on was 989kb (mostly text and signatures)

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue on Android 12 using a very long email chain, then attach a file from the reply view and inspect the linked k9mail-logs.txt around the reported timestamps. Done means the reply view remains open and the drafted reply is preserved after selecting an attachment.
