Research direction
No source files, tests, or entry points are identified in the issue. Start by locating the inbox message-list date display and the related settings UI, then clarify whether the desired behavior is a selectable absolute date or a combined date and weekday. Done means the agreed display behavior is implemented and verified for the relevant message dates.
