Problem you are trying to solve
It's possible that the app is instructed to open a folder that no longer exists (see #5978). In that case we should display a meaningful error message to the user.
Suggested solution
Instead of opening the default folder (see #5979) display an error message instead.
If the error occurred because an unread widget references a non-existent folder, maybe offer an option to reconfigure the unread widget.
