Repeat entry of phone pin to reveal imap/smtp password on Android 16 but not 10

A10: Xiomi Mi A2 Lite, standard. A16: Moto g55 5G, September 1, 2026 update.

Steps to reproduce

1. From account settings, choose mail account and choose fetching mail or _sending mai_l.
2. Select _incoming serve_r or outgoing server as appropriate.
3. Scroll to password field
4. Select eye icon to reveal password
5. On both A10 and A16, PIN prompt is invoked

Expected behavior

1. password revealed on 1st attempt.
2. Password should be revealed regardless of position of cursor.

Actual behavior

1. On A10 password is revealed first time regardless of cursor position
2. On A16 this process sometimes works. On the attached log it worked for IMAP but for SMTP the password was repeatedly not revealed unless the cursor is moved to the password field
3. So in order to reveal, cursor must be with obscured password field and eye icon selected.
4. It is an opposite of ticket #10013.

Start by reproducing the password-reveal flow in Thunderbird for Android 23.0 on Android 16, checking both incoming and outgoing server settings and the attached log. Compare the behavior with Android 10 and issue #10013; done means the password reveals on the first attempt regardless of cursor position.
