Description
Checklist
- I have used the search function to see if someone else has already submitted the same bug report.
- I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.
App
Thunderbird for Android
App version
19.0
Where did you get the app from?
Google Play
Android version
stock android 11
Device model
sony xperia 1 (2019)
Steps to reproduce
- Get an email from some bugzilla bug you followed with email notification
- Click on the link to e.g. an attachment
Expected behavior
It opens in firefox
Actual behavior
It opens chrome instead of the default firefox. But chrome opens without going to any link.
The long press menu also doesn't work on those broken links.
The links do work normally after clicking "Show unformatted message", when unformatted it does open in firefox and the long press menu also works properly again.
Example "broken" link: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=9590225&action=edit
I think I had it in other email as well but the vast majority of broken ones have been bugzilla
Unformatted:
Formatted
Logs
No response
EDIT: If necessary I can forward the offending email so it can be reliably reproduced.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in Thunderbird for Android 19.0 with a formatted Bugzilla notification containing the attachment link https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=9590225&action=edit, then compare it with the unformatted-message behavior. Done means formatted links open in the user's default Firefox browser and the long-press menu works normally.
