Steps to reproduce
- Go to Settings, Accounts, select your account
- Folders
- Set Trash folder to None
- Quit Thunderbird
Expected behavior
The setting should be retained.
On my mobile device, I want to delete e-mails directly without going to the trash, as I mostly get rid of spam.
Actual behavior
It keeps reverting to "Automatic (Trash)".

Research direction
Start by reproducing the Settings > Accounts > Folders flow and inspect how the Trash folder selection is persisted when set to None. The fix is complete when that choice remains selected after quitting and reopening Thunderbird, without reverting to Automatic (Trash).
