App

K-9 Mail

App version

17.0

Where did you get the app from?

F-Droid

Android version

16

Device model

Galaxy S24U

Steps to reproduce
  1. Go to Account List
  2. Open Account List
  3. See bad design an wrong abbrevations
Expected behavior

I’m expecting an account list that doesn’t look like a botched first attempt at a design. The problem started with version 16, and nothing has improved in version 17.

Actual behavior

Depending on their length, I see the account names displayed across two lines, with the email addresses from the next account’s button overlapping them. Furthermore, despite having different account names, all but one are now displayed with the same abbreviation

Research direction

Start by reproducing the problem from the Account List on Android 16, checking the two-line account names, overlapping email addresses, and repeated abbreviations. Locate the Account List screen implementation; done means names no longer overlap and distinct account names produce appropriate abbreviations.
