Description

Mounting a non-existing file results in docker creating a directory. This is hardly an expected effect.
Library should fail fast instead.

Research direction

The issue names no file, test, or entry point. Start by reproducing the non-existing-file bind mount behavior and locate the library's bind-mount handling; done means the library fails fast instead of allowing Docker to create a directory.
