Description
Are there any plans to include ml-explore/mlx as tfp backend?
It would be great for mac users running statistical computations locally.
If there are no such plans, I would be grateful for hints on how to add it, since the backend system has no public API.

Research direction
Review the linked ml-explore/mlx project and TensorFlow Probability's existing backend system, since the issue says that system has no public API. Determine the supported integration path and whether the requested backend is feasible. Done would mean a defined implementation or documented guidance for adding an MLX backend.
