Description
It seems to be faster (I'll post testing results in a follow-up comment) in my tests and requires very little changes.
The downside is that it will not work with Cassandra 3.x - which I feel is fine, as it's end-of-life (EOL) for quite some time.
I'd be happy to contribute a patch, it quite small.

Research direction
Start by locating the current Cassandra Go driver usage in the repository and checking how the proposed ScyllaDB GoCQL driver would affect supported Cassandra versions. Review the existing database tests and integration paths; done means the driver is replaced consistently and compatibility expectations, including Cassandra 3.x support, are verified.
