Description
Currently when running a client, the RPC channel is silent on first connection and any possible errors won't surface until a first action of some kind is taken by the editor. A status message should be posted on first launching the client that can confirm things are working without taking a editor action.

Research direction
Start by locating the client startup path and the RPC channel initialization or first-connection handling. Trace how status messages and connection errors are surfaced, then verify that launching the client reports successful connection or an error before any editor action is taken.
