It's a small feature, was added in https://github.com/tarantool/tarantool/commit/0dc72812fb78a192945612f0e954026a0ffe4053
Details
The commit has a detailed description. There's a couple of examples in test. I could write more.
Actually I hope that the feature is more user-friendly or even obvious comparing to gereral select method.
