Steps to reproduce

Generate dotnet server stub <aspnetcore-server-generated.zip>
Extract and open in visual studio 2019: Fails to load project. Screenshot attached

Workaround

  • Removed project from solution
  • Add the project to the solution
  • Close solution
  • Save solution on prompt
  • Open solution again
  • It opens now without error
    aspnetcore-server-generated.zip
