Description

✅ Design approved frontend

In-depth redesign of the editor’s UI to enable greater customization, enhance collaboration, and integrate comments into the right sidebar.

Document layout

  • Introduced a new persistent action bar for document controls that is better
  • Added a control to collapse the left sidebar.
  • Kept the document (or sub-document) title visible while scrolling.
  • Moved the emoji above the title to improve readability.
  • Added an icon to indicate whether a document is public or restricted (no icon when it’s simply shared).
  • Removed the emoji from the “More” menu, and disabled emoji editing from the sidebar; users must edit it in the main document view.
  • Introduced banners and emojis to personalize a document.

Sharing

  • Displayed avatars for users currently online.
  • Introduced new anonymous-user avatars inspired by flour-based specialties from EDIC countries (France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands).

Errors

  • Updated the offline alert to integrate with the new floating bar.
  • Updated the network-issues alert to integrate with the new floating bar.

Comments

  • Updated the right sidebar to align with the new floating bar.

Trash

  • Updated the alert to integrate with the new floating bar.

Mobile

  • Adapted Floating Bar
  • Emoji + banners
  • Banner and mobile specific options to change emojis and banners
