Description
As of now, I don't think there's a way to turn off the Jacobian adjustment when reporting in diagnostic mode. There should be.

Research direction
The issue mentions diagnostic mode and the Jacobian adjustment but names no file, test, or entry point. Start by locating the diagnostic-mode reporting path and how the Jacobian adjustment is applied. Done means diagnostic reporting can explicitly omit that adjustment, with behavior covered by an appropriate test.
