Description
Hi,
I am debugging some initialization problems of my model with rstan 2.18.2 on Windows.
While the new version did fix the problem of almost no error messages during initialization, THANK YOU!, but I noticed that print() does not seems to be working during this phase.
Is it a bug, feature, or maybe there is some trick to make it working?
Regards,
Slawek

Research direction
Reproduce the report with rstan 2.18.2 on Windows, focusing on print() during model initialization. Start by tracing the initialization path and checking whether output is emitted; done means establishing whether this is a bug, an expected limitation, or a documented usage issue.
