Description
In our examples or tests we use openldap which works correctly with NiFi.
However trying to connect to AD will lead to an insufficient permission error screen after logging into the WEB UI (so log in worked, no permissions are granted to that user though).
NiFi version was 1.18.0 but i assume it will affect all versions.
We need to investigate this and start testing with AD as well since it is used way more in typical production setups.

Research direction
Start by comparing the OpenLDAP configuration used in the examples or tests with an Active Directory setup. Reproduce the successful login followed by the insufficient-permission screen in the NiFi web UI. Done means AD authentication grants the intended permissions and the behavior is covered by tests or examples.
