Description

This issue arises from https://github.com/stackabletech/airflow-operator/pull/604
Specifically, the points we want to re-visit are:

  • possibly have an unversioned variant of build_recommended_labels in operator-rs (see comment)
  • correlate group listener name and role-dependent listener-class, so that the main merged_config can be used (see comment and comment and comment), considering what can be moved into operator-rs

Research direction

Start by reviewing airflow-operator PR 604 and its linked discussion comments, then inspect build_recommended_labels in operator-rs and the main merged_config flow. The work is done when the project agrees on unversioned label handling and on correlating group listener names with role-dependent listener classes, including what belongs in operator-rs.
