Description

As a developer/product manager I want an easy and automated way to make a platform release so that it becomes easier and more people can do a release with less reliance on manual steps.

This is done when we have a PLAN or idea for a way to do automated releases of our platform. This means that all relevant software projects need to have been released and there's a machine readable file that contains all of our software components in their specific versions.
It'd be great (but optional) if we could also get a consolidated changelog of all components.

NOTE: This serves as a research ticket only. Please present the plan in the architecture meeting before doing any (non-spike) implementation

Research direction

Start by mapping all relevant software projects and their current release steps. Develop a plan for automated platform releases that releases every component and produces a machine-readable file with component versions; consider a consolidated changelog as optional. Present the plan at the architecture meeting before any non-spike implementation.
