Description
Very large data cannot be loaded due to PyCharm heap constraints. One way to work around it is to lazily load slices of the data when selecting different layers or channels.

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are identified. Start by locating the current data-loading path used when selecting layers or channels, then determine how large data is retained and how slices could be loaded on demand; done means very large data can be viewed within PyCharm heap constraints while changing selections loads the relevant slices.
