Description

I asked my question on SO but it does not look like it is getting many views there:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/62232549/how-to-build-a-hateoas-link-with-a-regex-path-variable-from-a-super-class-in-spr

I would like to use methodOn so that the building of links is handled by the framework - but I also need it to be smart enough to notice there is a variable mandated by the super class.

Best way of doing that?

Research direction

Start with methodOn and the linked Stack Overflow example, focusing on how a regex path variable declared by a superclass is handled. Compare the requested behavior with the framework's current behavior and determine whether a code change or documentation is needed; done means the expected handling is clearly established and reproducible.
