Description
Nick Weedon opened DATAREST-231 and commented
It would be useful to be able to create a 'view' of the underlying data by allowing '@Transient' properties to be serialized.
This could be done in a number of ways, here are a two that come to mind:
- Serialize
@Transientproperties by default, therefore relying on the developer to use the@JsonIgnoreannotiation at their discretion. - Only serialize
@Transientfields that also have an affixed@RestResourceannotation of some kind.
I'm not sure if this 'runs against the grain' of the project in some way but I think it seems like a logical feature even for a 'datacentric' web service. The reason I believe it to be logical is that even at the database level there exists such a mechanism in the form of being able to create a 'View' table.
