The https://jira.spring.io/browse/SPR-15535 allows to detect the beans for the handler mapping by overriding the getCandidateBeanNames() method, instead of iterating over all beans that extend java.lang.Object as the parent does.
If the user has added the spring-component-indexer on the classpath then the scanning shouold be very fast
