Description
Currently scalar types in the MapBinder are restricted to a very limited set. We could also allow custom types to be supported, perhaps via a @ScalarValue annotation on the bound class.

Research direction
Start by reading the existing MapBinder handling for scalar types and determine how its current restrictions are enforced. Evaluate whether custom support should use a @ScalarValue annotation on the bound class, and define the expected behavior and coverage for supported custom types.
