Description
public interface ToolMetadata {
default boolean returnDirect() {
return false;
}
}

Research direction
Start by locating the ToolMetadata interface and reviewing the existing returnDirect() contract. Determine how extensible metadata should be represented while preserving that behavior; done means the proposed API supports additional attributes and has corresponding validation or tests.
