Description

During our NFT we noticed degradation in gateway's response time after we started to run test with 100k JSON payload. The response time was 1ms without payload and with payload it dropped to 5ms.
We also noticed that when we disable TLS this degradation goes away.

I did create a repository to reproduce this issue:

Research direction

Start with the reproduction repository at https://github.com/libkad/gateway-payload-perf and run the reported comparison using a 100k JSON payload with TLS enabled and disabled. Trace the gateway response-time difference and define done as reproducing, isolating, and verifying the reported degradation.
