Description

Renovate has better support for UV and uv lockfiles.

Renovate delegates to UV under the hood, whereas Dependabot attempts to emulate UV's behaviour. There are some known issues with the Dependabot implementation which have been open and unaddressed for some time.

Renovate is more flexible and powerful than Dependabot generally

Research direction

No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by locating the repository's current Dependabot configuration and comparing its UV and uv lockfile support with Renovate; done would require a decided migration scope and confirmation that dependency updates continue to work.
