Research direction
Reproduce the issue with Electrum 3.0.2 on a Raspberry Pi 3, then compare it with 2.9.3, which the report says works correctly. Trace the keyboard-input path and determine why the layout becomes unusable; done means normal keyboard input works on 3.0.2 without regressing the older behavior.
