Description
Currently, both solid-auth-client and solid-client-authn-browser (two libraries implementing the WebID-OIDC protocol to authenticate to Solid Pods) specify a custom OAuth scope, webid, when requesting an access token, along scopes that are part of the OIDC spec, e.g. openid or offline_access.
The webid scope is not mention in the current WebID-OIDC spec. However, it could be a way to discriminate between vanilla OIDC and the WebID-OIDC extension. This way, a hybrid OIDC identity provider can issue an ID token with or without the webid claim, or with the issuer claim formatted as a webid, depending on the client request. The OIDC specification, in a similar manner, uses the offline_access scope as an indication that a refresh token is requested by the client.
If this scope is seen as unnecessary, it should be removed from the authentication libraries.

Research direction
Review the current WebID-OIDC specification alongside src/webid-oidc.js and packages/browser/src/login/oidc/oidcHandlers/AuthorizationCodeWithPkceOidcHandler.ts. Determine whether the webid scope should be standardized as a protocol signal or removed from the authentication libraries, then record the decision in the specification or library issue.} norge_天天?
