Description

I understand that ColabFold uses a public MSA server to generate multiple sequence alignments. Could you please clarify what happens to the data that users submit to this server? Specifically:

  • Is the data stored, logged, or shared in any way?
  • If it is stored, for how long and under what conditions?
  • Are there any privacy safeguards in place to ensure sensitive or proprietary data remains secure?

Thanks,
Anisha

Research direction

Start by identifying the public MSA server used by ColabFold and reviewing its published data-handling and privacy information. Done means providing a sourced explanation of whether submitted data is stored, logged, shared, or retained, and describing applicable safeguards or limitations.
