Description

When a request failed (e.g. Server broke backwards compatibility), it'll be nice to be able to access the original body so we can log the error message from the server.

Not sure what to do with stream bodies, as once consumed the stream is exhausted. But this will be helpful for bodies which are fully in memory.

Research direction

The issue does not name a file, test, or entry point. Start by locating the client response-decoding and body-consumption paths, then compare handling for fully in-memory bodies and streams. Done means callers can access the original body after decoding fails, with the stream-body behavior defined and covered by tests.
