Description

- I have searched the existing issues
Platform
Linux
OS version
Qubes OS 4.3.1
App version
Flatpak (6.5.6)
Current Behavior
When you open app with default settings it will be so slow, you will have a input lag for keyboard and mouse and slow scrolling.
Qubes have no GPU support, all rendering is software and based on CPU.
I've fixed this issue after disabling transparency and blur in setting. Now it works much faster.
Maybe is a good idea just disable them by default for new users?
Expected Behavior
Fast working app without input lag
Steps To Reproduce
- Download and install QubesOS
- Download flatpak in
personalVM - Install SimpleX flatpak version
- Run it and create a chat
- Scroll it

Research direction
Start by reproducing the lag on Qubes OS 4.3.1 with the Flatpak 6.5.6 build and compare the default settings with transparency and blur disabled. Trace the desktop settings and rendering entry points to identify how those effects are enabled by default. Done means scrolling and keyboard or mouse input no longer lag during the reported software-rendering workflow.
